Cyberabad Cops to conduct Blood donation drive for Thalassemia, Cancer & other patients who are in need of Blood regularly
- In 1st phase during April/May 1495 units of blood collected
- In 2nd Phase ., from July 17 till date 1221 units of blood collected
- Today’s Blood Donation Camp conducted at Shamshabad limits.. 67 units collected
Cyberabad: With the effect of Covid -19, Corona lockdown the blood reserves at Blood banks are very low. In a bid to help Thalassemia patients (specifically children), Dialysis, Cancer, Accident patients, ladies who are with insufficient blood & other patients who are in need of Blood regularly. With the guidelines of Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, Shri. V.C. Sajjanar IPS., along with Indian Red Cross Society, Osmania General Hospital and Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society started the blood donation drive at Indian Red Cross Society, Adikmet, Vidyanagar on April 12. This is mainly with an intention to help the Thalassemia patients. Usually patients suffering from thalassemia disease require regular blood transfusion at least twice a month.
In the first phase Cyberabad CP requested citizens who intend to donate blood to contact Cyberabad Covid Control Room numbers - 9490617440 or 9490617431 & register their name. Further on need a police vehicle will b sent to pick up the donor from their home and will drop at Indian Red Cross society and will drop them back. CP Sajjanar, IPS., requested to help the needy people by donating the blood. He further stated that by donating the blood one will help three persons lives. Three needy persons will get RBC, Plasma, Platelets. With the call of CP During the 1st phase blood donation camp conducted in April/ May a total of 1495 units of blood was collected.
In the 2nd phase blood donation camp from June 17 to till date 1221 units of blood collected in Cyberabad limits.
This blood donation camps were conducting at all the police station limits in Cyberabad and will continue till july 22.
On July 15 there will be a Mega donation camp at Cyberabad CP Office. Cyberabad Police requested citizens who intend to donate blood to contact - 7901125460.
Meanwhile today’s blood donation camp conducted at shamshabad limits under the supervision of Shamshabad Inspector Y Prakash Reddy, Today volunteers donated 67 units of blood collected.
In a note Commissioner Of Police, Cyberabad Shri VC Sajjanar, IPS., said.. that there is a wrong notion on blood donation. People who think they will become weak after donating blood is a wrong notion. He said it is a myth. He requested the public to donate blood regularly.
