RAIDED ON A SHOP M/S GULNAR'S PERFUMES, MOZAM ZAHI MARKET AND SEIZED BANNED ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE MACHINES (VAPES) AND HOOKAH FLAVORS WITH NOXIUS TOBACCO

 On14-07-2020 night, the sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, Central Zone team, Hyderabad oncredible information conducted raid on one shop styled as M/s Gulnar's Perfumes situated at Shop No.13, Mozamzahi Market, Abids, Hyderabad and found illegal marketing and sales of noxious Tobacco contents,banned Electronic Cigarette ENDS (Electronic Nicotine Delivery System) contains Propylene,glycol, glycerin, water, nicotine and flavorings with no manufacturing dates and seized banned E-cigarettes Machines (VAPES), flavors liquid bottles and various Hookah flavors. 

Names of the accused Personsapprehended:

Syed Noor Salman Ali @ Salman S/o Syed Noor Akram Ali, age: 26 years, Occ: Perfumes Business, R/o H.No.20-5-234/B, near Asha Talkies, Shalibanda, Hyderabad.

Seized Material:

1. JOMS Vape E-cigarettes – 03 pieces 

2. Jul Vape E-cigarette – 01 piece

3. LF Silver Fox Flavor Original Smoke Juice – 08 bottles

4. Aafreen Double Apple various flavors of Vape- 12 pieces.

5. Shisha Smoke Flavored Molasses Various Hookah flavors – 880 packets

6. Papa Smoke – Next Level Hookah Molasses Various Hookah flavors – 27 packets

7. Hubble Bubble Flavoured Molasses – Commissioner – 17 packets

All worth about Rs. 2 Lakhs

BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE:

The brief facts of the case are that, the accusedby nameSyed Noor Salman Ali @ Salman is running business on the name of M/s Gulnar's Perfumessituated atShop No.13, Mozamzahi Market, Abids, Hyderabadfor his sales and marketing banned noxious Electronic Cigarette Machines and various Hookah flavors illegally to gain easy profits. On observation found that hehas stored and selling the banned E-Cigarettes with flavors which contains Propylene,glycol, glycerin, water, nicotine and flavorings and Hookah flavors which contains Nicotin which hazardous to health. He is running this business clandestinely & selling them to the needy customers to gain easy profits. As Telangana State has banned the sale, manufacture, distribution and storage of noxioustobacco and all its variants. Central Government also banned electronic cigarettes in India.The accused planned to earn easy money by way of selling of banned noxious tobacco contents in the market as it as much demand in the marketand gaining easy profits illegally and violated theCigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTP Act).  

 Government of IndiaMinistry of Health & Family welfare issued an advisory stating that Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) including e-Cigarettes, Heat-Not-burn devices, Vape, e-Sheesha, e-Nicotine Flavoured Hookah and the like productsare dangerous to public healthand Nicotine is prohibited for use as an ingredient in any food item under the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on sales) regulation, 2011 of the Food Safety and Standards Act,2006. As such States/Union Territories are advised, in large public health and in order to prevent the initiation of ENDS by smoker/non-smokers and youth with special attention to vulnerable groups where in eminent doctors, specialists, scientists and officers of Health and Drug departments concluded based on available scientific evidences indicating that the  ENDS and similar technologies that encourage tobacco (Nicotine) use are hazardous for an active as well as passive users and have an adverse impact on public Healthand may lead to Cancer and other pulmonary/respiratory diseases.

The apprehended accused along with seized property washanded over to SHO, Abid Road PS for further investigation and necessary action U/s 20(2) of COTP OF P.S.Abid Road, Hyderabad.

The arrest was made under the supervision of Sri. P. Radha Kishan Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, by Sri.Mohd Abdul Javeed, Inspector of Police, Central Zone Team Task Force, and SIs Sri. T.Sreedhar, Sri. K. Srinivasulu &Sri. Mohd Shahnawaz Shafi along with the staff of Central Zone Team, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad.
