Rachakonda CP pays tribute to the legendary Freedom Fighter and Telangana Protagonist Sri Konda Laxman Bapuji on the eve his 105th Birth Centenary
REPORT BY SYED ISMAIL MOHD SHAH                                                                                                                                                                             On 27th September 2020, on the occasion of the 105th Birth Centenary of freedom fighter Sri Konda Laxman Bapuji, Sri Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, CP Rachakonda paid floral tributes at CP Office, Neredmet. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Mahesh Bhagwat stated that Sri Laxman Bapuji born in 1915 in Wankidi village in Adilabad district. He has participated in the Quit India Movement and earned the title Bapuji. Bapuji, a socialist, took an active part in the armed struggle against the Razakars and Nizam government of then Hyderabad State. He participated in the 1952 Non-mulki agitation.  He was elected as MLA from Asifabad constituency in 1952 and later three times from Chinna Kondur (renamed as Bhongir Constituency). He resigned as Minister in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet in 1969 to join the movement for separate statehood to Telangana. Since then he eschewed active politics for four decades until his demise and dedicated himself for statehood to Telangana. He was a member of the Telangana Sadhana Samiti. The horticulture university in Hyderabad was named, Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University and his birthday is celebrated as State Function by the Government of Telangana in his honor. Ms Rakshitha Murthy IPS DCP Malkajgiri, Mrs Shilpavalli ADCP Admin, Sri Narsimha Swamy SHO Neredmet PS, Sri Vijayanand RI Estate Officer CP Office and other officers joined the CP in offering floral tributes to the freedom fighter.
